A folk-processed version of a popular Jewish drinking song from the 1930’s. One recorded version by Zinoviy Shulman is titled “Kolkhoznaya Zastolnaya” and credits the poet Itzik Fefer with writing the text. The melody is now familiar as a favorite chant among contemporary religious Zionist settlers.
